Our Story

Since 1900, we've lost approximately 75% of our agricultural crop diversity. Commercial agriculture naturally favors uniformity and efficiency, but this comes at a cost—the incredible variety of heirloom seeds that our ancestors carefully developed over thousands of years.

Our founder recognized this challenge in 2022. Across the world, traditional seed sharing between neighbors and families—the backbone of agricultural heritage—was becoming less common. Modern gardeners often didn't know where to find heirloom varieties, and those who had them didn't have easy ways to connect with others.

SeedShare was created to bridge this gap. We built a platform where gardeners can easily discover heirloom seeds, connect with other seed savers, and share both seeds and knowledge. By making seed sharing accessible in the digital age, we're helping preserve the genetic diversity that took generations to develop.

Today, our community spans 45 countries and has documented over 50,000 heirloom varieties. We've partnered with community seed libraries, botanical gardens, and agricultural organizations who share our passion for preserving biodiversity.

SeedShare is about connection—connecting gardeners with each other, connecting the present with the past, and ensuring that future generations inherit the same rich agricultural heritage that we did. Because some things are worth preserving.
