Our Mission
“Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth.’”
— Genesis 1:29
Our mission is to steward the seeds God has entrusted to us — preserving agricultural biodiversity by connecting gardeners worldwide in a community dedicated to saving and sharing heirloom seeds.
Since 1900, we've lost 75% of our crop diversity. Commercial agriculture favors uniformity\—but uniformity is fragile. Climate change, new pests, and diseases threaten monocultures. Heirloom varieties, adapted over generations to local conditions, are our best insurance for the future.
SeedShare exists to make seed saving accessible to everyone — honoring the call to tend and keep the earth. We provide the tools, knowledge, and community connections needed to grow, save, and share seeds\—keeping rare varieties alive for future generations.
"Grow the Future, Share the Past"
All it takes for a country to lose a war is to go hungry. And all it takes for a captured country to go hungry is a war that disrupts the seed supply.
If you don't own your own seeds, you don't own your army.
